Mr. M.R. Prasanna (Pras), a native of Mysore, holds a masters degree and is a gold medalist.

After being an independent Counsel for about 7 years he worked for over 28 years with different organizations like Alfa Laval, Brooke Bond India Limited (now part of Hindustan Unilever) and Larsen & Toubro Limited.

For about 12 years, Pras was the General Counsel of the Aditya Birla Group, spearheading mergers and acquisitions.

Since May 2010, Pras has relocated to Bangalore as an Independent Consultant.

Pras has been a Director on the Boards of many of the Aditya Birla Group Companies, both in India and abroad. He has a keen interest in Corporate Governance.

He was the Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry and is currently Advisor to the Managing Committee of Bombay Chamber.

He is a member of the Corporate Laws Committee of FICCI.

He is a Member of the International Bar Association.

He is a Member of the Editorial Boards of India Business Law Journal, Hong Kong and Asia I.P. Magazine on Intellectual Property Law.

He is the Chairman of the Advisory Council of The Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai for the course "Business Law for Legal Professionals".

He is a Life Member of the International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR), New Delhi. He is on the Panel of Indian Arbitrators for The Singapore International Arbitration Centre and The Kuala Lumpur Regional Arbitration Centre.

He was awarded the "Best In House Counsel" award by Asia Law, Hong Kong in 2005 and 2007.

In November 2006, he was conferred the "National Law Day" Award by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India.

He has been recognized in the Hall of Fame as India's top 50 lawyers.

Pras is a regular speaker and a trainer on diverse topics before various forums, both national and international.

Pras himself has undergone training and re-learning programs at the IIMA India, North Western University (Kellogg) Chicago and The Harvard Law School.
